The Finest Hours

In 1952, a horrifying nor’easter (snow + wind storm) destroyed two oil tankers off the Massachusetts coast.

The Finest Hours is the story of an unbelievable real-life Coast Guard rescue operation in which Bernie Webber and his teen-member crew risked their lives in a small lifeboat to save 30+ people.The film perfectly portrays bravery, duty and sacrifice, especially when nature becomes so powerful that man’s courage becomes his last weapon.

Major scenes were filmed at the real Chatham Coast Guard Station the same place where the original mission was launched.Set designs were recreated at the Quincy Shipyard, where the tankers' breaking sequence was shot.

The film also incorporated local extras and Cape Cod communities, giving it an authentic New England feel.
